So another Bollywood flick which I always protest I no longer see due to Patriotic reasons but since my friends dragged me to one Phillauri.
I couldn’t very well refuse my daughter who
DRUMROLLS …………………………
is totally besotted with Arjun from the day when he first made his appearance on the movie scene!
And so despite my bothers nasty comments and my own shame I found myself sitting through another Indian Flick.
What can I say?

The whys to see it
Shardha looked Awesome! Perfection in the role
Sound Track is fantastic! Thoree dair and phir bhe are phenomenal
New York’s glamour is capsuled perfectly
Why to not see it
Arjun Kapoor can’t act to save his life. Guy seems to be totally standard in terms of evolving in his craft
Storyline is a gazillion years old. One half of a love sick pair makes off faking illness/death to not ruin the life of the other! Yeap that is right!
Like a good mom I made all the right Oohs and Aahs at all appropriate moments. And sat back to my fate. But honestly Shardha is so charming and natural in her role as the poor little rich girl coming of age and the sound track (the hindi ones not the attempt at English songs) is so great that it wasn’t really all that bad a time spend.
Best of all it was something a beloved was looking forward to and she came out happy so the movie is redeemed even though it leaves you with the feeling that it could have been so much more!

Tvinkal is an idea that is seeded in the mind of our Muse and CEO Jahanara because of a dearth of good reading material pertaining to Pakistanis. An avid reader herself, she felt that most of the Pakistani Blogs were all about either sensationalism or were so deeply monetized that all they offered were advertisements or endorsements of different brands.
There isn’t a single Pakistani Lifestyle Blog that talks about the real life interests of Pakistanis especially the women. Be it Fashion, Trends, Street Style, Cooking, Shopping, Upcoming Events, Movie Reviews or a take on the International Scene, we just never get to read a Pakistanis Perspective.
And that is how Tvinkal came about!
