Masking it Up!

More and more I see people driving around in their air conditioned cars alone wearing masks.

It never failed to surprise me. I mean yes precautions are absolutely necessary but we do know that masks basically hinder our supply of oxygen and are not for extended use. It’s bad enough that we need to wear them now on a daily basis for a prolonged period of time, is it really necessary for us to add to the stress?

The reason why I ask this question is simple. We are all already facing emotional, mental and physical trauma. Even if we are economically and health wise safe in these turbulent times, we are still locked up with our comfort zones snatched away and life as we know it has somehow vanished. Even now when we move towards bringing a semblance of normalcy to our lives we still struggle with social distancing and the growing alarm of the covid19 situation in Pakistan.

With our minds and boys already stressed we need to

  • Ensure we stay indoors as much as possible as Pakistan is in an alarmingly bad situation
  • When we do go outdoors just wear a mask when we leave our cars

Also we must remember that masks are an evil necessity that we have to bear with.

Do not wear it for the sake of wearing one when it’s not required

Do not wear it if you have gone out cycling or walking or running. Use a scarf instead. I can’t stress how important this is!

Please stay safe and act intelligently as the worst is yet to be over.
