Banana Ice Cream
Absolutely the most fabulous, quick and easy recipe I have found on the net!
It’s a one ingredient ice cream that is healthy and readily accessible! A great way to feed your kids some extra fruit in the guise of an ice cream
Walnuts or Pecan nuts (Optional)
Take a dozen peeled bananas and dice them into three pieces each. Freeze them in a zip lock bag or an airtight container for at least 6 hours.
I leave a box full in the freezer at all times. As that way the ice cream is just one step away in case of a late night craving or in the event of informal drop in’s at your house.
Put the required amount of frozen bananas into a food processer and push them down as much as you can so they are tightly packed to a degree.
Start blending. For the first couple of try’s it will be a little difficult to move the bananas so push them around with a spoon until the blending process starts. Within a couple of minutes the bananas will take on a white consistency and turn into the yummiest ice cream. It can take anywhere from 2 to 4 minutes
If you are a fan of soft ice cream then serve immediately. You can garnish it with chopped walnuts.
If you like the ice cream a little hard then leave it in the freezer for 20 minutes and voila!
Tip # 1: If you have a taste for heavy sweets just add 2 tablespoons of honey for every 3 bananas in the blender.
Tip # 2: I serving of ice cream requires about 3 bananas
Tip # 3: You can actually freeze the bananas and make the ice cream and store it in an ice cream box in your deep freezer for instant access also.
Note: I’ve changed the original process a bit to make the method a little simpler.
