It was a pleasant surprise to meet up with Arjumand Rahim and to find out that we went to the same school and class for a few years together!
That certainly opened up some nostalgic inspired Chit chat.
Having said that, what strikes you about Arjumand when you meet her is her casually chique style and very hospitable nature. Known for doing meaningful and relevant roles you can see that she is a personification of good sense and social responsibility.
Her passion for rehabilitation of canines found on the street who couldn’t fend for themselves further strengthened my opinion of her as someone who takes her role of giving back to the community at large, seriously.
We talked at length about her yearlong stay in India where she did a lot of theatre and her hopes that one day Pakistan too can see a revival of the performing arts just like the silver screen. Arjumand by the way starred in one of my most fav Pakistani movies so far, “Manto” which was a brilliant feat of parallel Cinema.
Arjumand is Intelligent with an understated cool persona and a very open and positive vibe. We hope to see her lend her acting brilliance to more and more projects in the future!
Tvinkal is an idea that is seeded in the mind of our Muse and CEO Jahanara because of a dearth of good reading material pertaining to Pakistanis. An avid reader herself, she felt that most of the Pakistani Blogs were all about either sensationalism or were so deeply monetized that all they offered were advertisements or endorsements of different brands.
There isn’t a single Pakistani Lifestyle Blog that talks about the real life interests of Pakistanis especially the women. Be it Fashion, Trends, Street Style, Cooking, Shopping, Upcoming Events, Movie Reviews or a take on the International Scene, we just never get to read a Pakistanis Perspective.
And that is how Tvinkal came about!
