The Lion King: A Review
I still get goose bumps when I think of the first time I saw the original Lion King and the movie started with the Circle of Life. It’s a song that has stayed with me for years and years. So no wonder when the remake came out all I wanted was to go see it.
It’s a great watch for kids and the people who haven’t watched the original. For those who had the fortune of watching the original iconic movie this really doesn’t cut it…
Personally I just didn’t get the same emotional vibe that I did from the first one. I enjoyed the movie I kid you not. It was a pleasant experience but that’s all it actually was. The gut wrenching, heart aching, triumphant moments of the original just didn’t make it into this super sophisticated new version. Even though this is a gorgeous movie. Pretty as a pin with the visuals so stunning that you would think you are watching a lion episode on National Geographic’s instead of animated characters. Maybe that is the reason why the emotions have somehow gotten lost… whatever the reason might be I felt that this remake really hasn’t been able to justify itself as it really doesn’t even stand close to the original. Of course if you haven’t watched it you must go and take your little ones because if you aint comparing well than its one heck of a flick!

Tvinkal is an idea that is seeded in the mind of our Muse and CEO Jahanara because of a dearth of good reading material pertaining to Pakistanis. An avid reader herself, she felt that most of the Pakistani Blogs were all about either sensationalism or were so deeply monetized that all they offered were advertisements or endorsements of different brands.
There isn’t a single Pakistani Lifestyle Blog that talks about the real life interests of Pakistanis especially the women. Be it Fashion, Trends, Street Style, Cooking, Shopping, Upcoming Events, Movie Reviews or a take on the International Scene, we just never get to read a Pakistanis Perspective.
And that is how Tvinkal came about!
