Eid Celebrations and Style Choices
Well Eid Ul Fitr is usually a challenge when it comes to making wardrobe choices. Frankly it’s usually pretty hot.
Secondly I cook the main dish on the first day of Eid which is usually mutton Karahi (Me and my cook bicker. He’s territorial and doesn’t want me cooking! I win so I cook) and so my style is kinda cramped but dammit it’s Eid and I shall dress up!
I usually ditch my preferred evening wear which is a sari and opt for a shalwar Kameez instead. Making the choice is usually more difficult. I avoid heavy embroideries or worked clothes preferring chiffons that are easily dry cleaned later and don’t get too wrinkled under an apron. Secondly if my Eid clothes tend to be too formal I do plan a second kitchen outfit that seamlessly transitions from the kitchen to the drawing room keeping my accessories flashy and my lips and nails dark and bright to cover up for the informality of my clothes. So if you are one who loves to cook like me plan your clothes carefully girl! After all you do want to rock your Eid look!

Tvinkal is an idea that is seeded in the mind of our Muse and CEO Jahanara because of a dearth of good reading material pertaining to Pakistanis. An avid reader herself, she felt that most of the Pakistani Blogs were all about either sensationalism or were so deeply monetized that all they offered were advertisements or endorsements of different brands.
There isn’t a single Pakistani Lifestyle Blog that talks about the real life interests of Pakistanis especially the women. Be it Fashion, Trends, Street Style, Cooking, Shopping, Upcoming Events, Movie Reviews or a take on the International Scene, we just never get to read a Pakistanis Perspective.
And that is how Tvinkal came about!
